Following this, it gives certifications of conformity to standards that it develops itself.

ULC standards and security systems

The security systems industry in Canada is heavily influenced by ULC standards. A ULC Certified alarm system is known to be better than one that is not. As a result, insurance providers are reducing rates for customers with compliant systems. In addition, organizations with objects of great value to protect demand that their systems to be compliant.

Security product manufacturers also comply their products to ULC standards. Because an installation of complied products may be better as well.

How does a company register with ULC ?

To register with ULC, a company must comply in terms of its on-site facilities. It must also have a fire alarm and anti-theft monitoring central that complies both in terms of equipment, operations and skilled personnel.
